Family friend, trusted workmate or pride and joy we hold an emotional connection with our vehicles.
Do you remember the first car you owned? That road trip you did with your mates? Driving over to pick up your first love? The family holiday where you were all packed in?
At LaneQuest we are building a revolutionary new app to connect people, their vehicles and their memories
I bought my first car for £400 when I had saved up enough money at my first job. My Alfasud was silver and not in as good condition as this one. Alfa's were renowned for rust and mine had plenty. It was also not guaranteed you could open the passenger door from the inside. I used to drop my friend off at work at a roundabout in Croydon and sometimes had to run round to let him out resulting in plenty of honking from other drivers!
I bought this car for £2000. There were not many on the roads and I loved its rear lights and pillar-less design. It took me and three friends down to the South of France with a tent for a camping holiday. It handled terribly, also suffered from rust and its engine blew up on the M23 on the way to work. I still loved it but eventually sold it as a non-runner for £25
